What websites actually cost

Most contractors have no idea what a website should cost.

We'll save you the Googling. Here's what's out there in 2026, with honest math.

DIY (Wix, Squarespace, GoDaddy)
"Free" + $20–40/mo
A template, 30+ hours of your weekends, a site that looks like everyone else's.
Local web agency
$3,000–$8,000 upfront + $200–$500/mo
A custom site, locked behind a year-long contract.
United Foundry & similar
$250–$500/mo, 12-month minimum
A GoHighLevel template. You don't own the code.
Workman
$1,500 once. + $50/mo coverage (optional)
A real custom site with your photos, your voice. You own it forever.

Three years in, you've paid us $3,300 with full coverage — or just $1,500 if you self-host. The others charge $9,000+ either way.

What's included

In the $1,500. No upsells.

01

The build

  • Custom 3–5 page website, built by hand — not a template
  • Real photography of your crew, trucks, and jobsites — not stock
  • Mobile-first design that works on the phone your customers actually use
  • SEO foundation: meta tags, schema, fast load, indexed pages
  • Google Business Profile setup so you show up in the map pack
  • Contact form wired to your phone and email
02

Ownership

  • You own the code. If you ever leave, the site goes with you
  • Hosted on fast modern infrastructure — not WordPress, not Wix
  • First concepts back in 2–3 business days
  • One designer, one developer, one week from kickoff to live
  • You talk to the person building it
What's not included

We tell you up front. Stay in our lane.

These are real services. They just aren't what we do. If you need any of them, we'll point you to someone good. We'd rather refer you out than sell you something we can't deliver well.

One price. You own it.
Coverage — optional, $50/month

Insurance for your website.

You don't have to take it. The site works fine without us. But like any insurance, you pay a little every month so you don't pay a lot when something goes wrong. If you'd rather self-host, we'll hand you the code and walk you through the move.

Common questions

Things contractors ask before signing.

Why no monthly subscription for the build?+

Because you're a tradesman. You bid jobs at a fixed price. We do the same.

Subscription pricing exists so agencies can collect $0 upfront and lock you into a 12-month contract. We collect a flat fee, hand you a real site, and let you decide month-to-month whether to keep us hosting it.

Is the $50/month required?+

No. It's optional. Think of it like insurance — you pay a small amount every month so you don't pay a lot when something goes sideways (domain expires, SSL breaks, site goes down, something needs patching).

Skip it and you host the site yourself on Vercel, Netlify, or wherever you want. We'll hand you the code and walk you through the move. The site is yours either way.

What if I want changes after launch?+

Corrections and edits start at $100 each, quoted before we start. New pages or larger design changes run $75–$150+ per piece depending on scope.

Before launch, every project includes two rounds of revisions. Most clients don't need both. Scope changes get quoted in writing before we touch anything.

Do I really own the site?+

Yes. The code, the content, the domain — yours. Most agencies hold your site hostage on their platform so you can't leave. We don't.

How long does it take?+

First concepts in 2–3 business days. Full site live in 2–3 weeks, depending on how fast you get us photos and answers.

What about ads, SEO, social media?+

We don't do them. Those are real specializations and we won't pretend otherwise. If you need them, we'll point you to someone who actually delivers — not a generalist agency selling everything.

Ready when you are.

15-minute call. We'll look at your current site (or lack of one) and tell you straight whether we're a fit. No pitch.
